Partstack Picks Up Features and Awards Across the Design Community - Clay

Rebranding the "Google for the semiconductor industry" turned out to be a project worth talking about. And the design community agreed.

Our work for Partstack, the search engine connecting buyers and sellers across more than a million electronic components, was recently featured by The Brand Identity and Mindsparkle Mag, and picked up recognition from CSS Design Awards, CSS Winner, The FWA, and Orpetron.

For Partstack, we evolved the brand identity and redesigned the website around how engineers and buyers actually use it. The challenge was density. Users navigate thousands of nearly identical parts, where a single spec line can change a purchasing decision.

So we kept the recognizable stacked logomark, simplified it, rebuilt the wordmark as a single lowercase unit, and designed a search experience that makes fast, confident decisions possible.

The Brand Identity took the deepest look at the thinking behind the rebrand. Their feature explores how we balanced recognition with modernization, from the mix of rounded and beveled corners in the logomark to the two-typeface system that pairs Aeonik's personality with Inter's readability at small sizes. The piece includes commentary from our Design Director Aleksandr Ratasep and Brand Design Director Oleg Turbaba on the decisions that shaped the final identity.

Mindsparkle Mag spotlighted the visual identity, calling attention to the layered illustration system that extends Partstack's original schematic line art with clay renders and purple-lit product renders. It's the detail that keeps a catalog of a million parts from ever feeling monotonous.

The website itself earned its own round of recognition. Partstack was nominated at the CSS Design Awards and received Special Kudos from CSS Winner. It was also featured as a case on The FWA, a platform known for celebrating digital craft, and earned the Web Design Appreciation from Orpetron.

Seeing a B2B platform this technical get noticed by publications and juries that celebrate design craft says something. Good design isn't reserved for consumer brands.
